Students can take college classes while in high school and get both high school and college credit for them. Classes can be taken for a discounted tuition rate.

THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT TAKING COLLEGE CLASSES IN HIGH SCHOOL
Admission Guidelines:
1. Complete an Application for Admission.
- Apply at www.cowley.edu
- Apply as a high school student
- Watch for an email from Cowley with your student ID number and a link to set your password
2. Contact your high school counselor about your interest in dual enrollment.
3. Students must:
- Complete the FastTrack Permission form through their high school counselor. (Must be updated every Fall)
- CTE students --complete the FastTrack Permission form through their counselor. The counselor will also submit a Counselor Evaluation Form.
4. Be a high school sophomore, junior, senior, or be a freshman with a gifted IEP.
5. Meet GPA and placement score guidelines
- minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 general education classes; OR 2.0 for most CTE programs
- ACT Reading score of 18 or equivalent proficiency on ACCUPLACER assessment test. (This can be taken for free at the Sumner Campus.)
- ACT Math score of 21 (or equivalent) for Math courses; ACT English score of 20 (or equivalent) for Comp I & II courses
THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT TAKING COLLEGE CLASSES IN HIGH SCHOOL
- Because it's dual credit, the grade you earn in the college class also goes on your high school transcript.
- You have one week to drop the course after it begins.
- If you drop the class after the one week, you will receive an "F" on your high school transcript and be placed in an appropriate replacement non-college course.
